125 Years of the Boys’ Brigade

Sunday 30th March, 2008

“IT started as an idea to help discipline some boys in a Sunday School class, but 125 years later the Boys’ Brigade is still going strong.

The organisation, founded by William Smith, is the oldest uniformed children’s group in the world … and it all began in Glasgow.”

Evening Times Supplement

On Wednesday 27th February, the Evening Times published a 24-page article celebrating 125 years of the Boys’ Brigade.

The supplement features photographs of Companies all over Glasgow, including our own Company photograph taken a few weeks ago (page 4 of the supplement). It also contains older photographs showing the Boys’ Brigade as far back as 1927.

The article is great publicity for the Boys’ Brigade, and so we hope that you managed to get a copy of the supplement to read, and share with friends and family. If you didn’t manage to get a copy of it, then we have provided links to both the article and 24-page supplement at the end of this post.
