- Activities outwith Friday Parade nights include an outing to the Pantomime at Christmas, visits to local attractions, the highly regarded Junior Section Camp and of course the Annual Display evening.
- The Boys may compete in a variety of competitions throughout the session: Figure Marching (District & Battalion), Bible Knowledge & Bible Reading (District), Unknown Factor (loosely based on the TV Show - The Krypton Factor) (District), Table Games (District). These are the main competitions we enter but, of course, there may be others which we enter throughout the year.
Awards
- During the time spent attending the Junior Section, Boys work towards various badges in an award scheme. The following badges are awarded for completing activities covering 5 areas (Adventure, Community, Interest, Physical and Spiritual):
- Year 1 - Target Badge (presented at Christmas) & Bronze Badge
Year 2 - Silver Badge
Year 3 - Gold Badge - Once the Boy has achieved the Gold Badge, he may be promoted from the Junior Section to be a Target Boy within the Company Section of the Boys' Brigade.
Uniform
- We ask the Boys to wear grey trousers, with the blue Junior Section jersey. The BB Cap and armbands for badges will be required also.
- The Boys should wear dark grey or black socks, with cleaned and polished black school shoes.
- P.E kit should also be brought along on Friday nights.
- Click here for information about where to buy uniform.
Squads
- Like the Anchor Boys, in the Junior Section the Boys are split up into squads, each with a "Leading Boy".
- Points may be awarded or removed from the squad, as consequences of behaviour, smartness during inspection, helpfulness to Officers, games and attendance at Parades. Points are accumulated throughout the year, with each squad aiming to win the Squad Shield.
