Taken from Newsletter Issue No. 2We have just held our last meeting of the session and now have two new parents from the Junior section who have joined us, Heather Daniels & Fiona Fisher. Below are some of the things that have been happening:
Fundraising
- Applications for Grants from East Renfrewshire Council and the Lottery have now been submitted for new PE equipment & camping equipment hopefully we will hear soon if we have been successful. These are major items of expenditure and urgently need replaced.
- The Bag Pack in February was a big success and thank you to all parents who took part & made donations. We hope to organise another before Christmas.
Publicity
- The 79th took a stall at the Mearns Primary School fair in March and did much to raise the profile of the BB in the area. From this we got several new names and one new boy has joined the Junior Section hopefully more will follow next session.
- We have now had 2 short articles with photos printed in the Extra with the Company Section drill squad and the Company Section & 3rd Year Junior Section boys with the many trophies won this year. The trophies are now on display in a cabinet outside the front hall of the church please come and have a look.
